This page answers the questions we think every reader should be able to ask a hardware and gaming site. If something here is unclear, you can always ask us directly.
Editorial Standards in Question Form
Who decides what PC Gaming Universe recommends?
Our editorial team, and nobody else. Brands, retailers and PR agencies have no say over which CPUs, GPUs, peripherals or games we include, and they do not see articles before they are published.
Can a company pay to be featured or ranked higher?
No. We do not accept paid placements or sponsored rankings, and brands cannot pay for inclusion. Affiliate commissions exist, but they are not tied to any product’s position.
What do you accept as a source?
Primary sources come first: manufacturer specifications, official documentation, driver release notes and, for games, developer announcements and published system requirements. Next are independent measurements from hardware review sites, display measurement labs and audio measurement databases. Owner and player feedback is used to spot patterns. We never publish a number without a source. When credible measurements conflict, we note the spread or explain the likely reason, such as different game scenes, settings or driver versions used by those outlets.
How is AI used?
AI assists with research, outlining and first drafts. People edit and verify everything. AI never invents specs, frame rates or results, and unverifiable content is removed before publication.
Do you receive free hardware?
We currently do not accept review units in exchange for coverage. If we ever receive a free sample or have a relationship with a brand mentioned in an article, that will be disclosed on the article itself.
How current is the content?
Guides are reviewed periodically and whenever new hardware, driver changes, major game patches or price changes affect our advice. Each revised article shows when it was last updated.
How do I report a mistake?
Use our contact page. Please include the article and, if possible, the source that shows the correct information. Confirmed errors are corrected quickly.
