Search for the dirt bike cheat in GTA Five and you get one code — OFFROAD on PC — but the game contains far more than one off-road bike. Understanding which bikes exist, which the cheat actually gives you, and when buying beats spawning turns a novelty code into a real part of how you travel around San Andreas.

This guide covers the cheat itself, the full off-road two-wheeler line-up, and the honest trade-offs between cheating and owning. First, eight real games that get motorcycles right.

The Dirt Bike Cheat in GTA Five: Inputs and Limits

There is exactly one dirt bike spawn cheat, and it produces a Maibatsu Sanchez. Enter it on foot during single-player story mode:

PC console: press ~ and type OFFROAD.
PlayStation: Circle, X, L1, Circle, Circle, L1, Circle, R1, R2, L2, L1, L1.
Xbox: B, A, LB, B, B, LB, B, RB, RT, LT, LB, LB.
Any platform, via in-game phone: dial 1-999-633-7623.

Rockstar never added cheats for the other off-road bikes, so the Sanchez is your only spawnable option. Everything else has to be bought or stolen.

The off-road bikes in GTA Five, and where they came from

The Sanchez is the baseline — a light single-cylinder trail bike carried over from GTA IV, available in both a plain and a livery variant. Beyond it, the off-road category grew substantially through GTA Online updates. The Nagasaki BF400 arrived with the Bikers content and is a quicker, more stable enduro machine. The Dinka Enduro is a cheap and cheerful alternative. The Maibatsu Manchez and the later Manchez Scout are more aggressive rally-style bikes added in subsequent updates.

The important distinction: the Sanchez is the one you can reliably buy in story mode from the Southern San Andreas Super Autos website. Much of the wider off-road roster is aimed at Online players.

Cheat or buy? A straight comparison

Spawning is instant, free and repeatable, which makes it ideal for stunt attempts where you expect to destroy several bikes. Buying costs money but the bike is permanent: it goes in a garage, it survives reloads, and it can be taken to Los Santos Customs for engine, brake, suspension and armour upgrades plus liveries.

The practical answer is to do both. Use the cheat for experiments and mountain descents, and own one upgraded Sanchez for missions and traversal. Rapid garage and menu navigation is where input hardware shows on PC, and a gaming mouse buying guide covers what actually matters for precision.

What the Sanchez is genuinely good at

Its strength is terrain, not speed. On tarmac it is unremarkable; on gravel, dirt and steep gradients it is the best vehicle in the game. It maintains traction where cars slide, fits through gaps between rocks and fence posts, and is light enough that a crash usually throws the rider clear rather than writing off the vehicle. Mount Chiliad’s descent trails and the dry washes of the Grand Senora Desert are effectively purpose-built for it.

Its weakness is that a rider on a bike is a completely exposed target. Any mission involving sustained gunfire is a bad place to be on two wheels.

Getting the most out of stunt jumps

GTA Five contains 50 Stunt Jumps, and many of them favour a bike because the run-up lines are too narrow for cars. Since the cheat provides unlimited free bikes, failed attempts cost nothing. Stack the PC SLOWMO cheat up to three times for slow motion at the apex, add FLOATER for moon gravity, and use PAINKILLER so a botched landing does not end the session. Console players get the same effects through the phone numbers.

If you plan to share the results, a capture card buying guide explains what is needed for clean console recording, and a graphics card buying guide is the PC equivalent when you want high frame rates while capturing.

Terrain routes worth learning

Three areas reward learning properly. The Mount Chiliad trail network, reachable by cable car to the summit, gives the longest continuous off-road descent. The Sandy Shores and Alamo Sea shoreline links dry riverbeds to Route 68 with almost no tarmac. And the Vinewood Hills fire roads make a genuinely effective police escape route, because patrol cars struggle to follow on the loose surface. Reading uneven ground at speed rewards a low-latency display, which is the main subject of any gaming monitor buying guide.

The GTA Online situation

No cheat codes function in GTA Online. The mode is server-authoritative and simply ignores the inputs, and attempting to force them with third-party software is a reliable way to have an account permanently banned. Online, off-road bikes are bought legitimately through the in-game vehicle websites, and the selection is much wider than story mode offers. Racing them in a crew means voice communication, which is where a gaming headset buying guide earns its place.

Things the cheat will not do

It will not give you a permanent bike, a modified bike, a different model, or anything in Online. It will not break your save — cheat effects vanish on reload and only disable achievements for the current session. And it will not spawn a bike if you are inside a vehicle or wedged into a space too small for one to appear, which accounts for most reports of the code “not working”. If dropped inputs are your problem on console, a game controller buying guide is worth a look, since these combinations lean heavily on the shoulder buttons and triggers.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Dirt Bike Cheat in GTA Five

Is there more than one dirt bike cheat in GTA Five?

No. Rockstar included a single off-road bike spawn cheat, which produces a Maibatsu Sanchez. Other off-road bikes such as the BF400, the Enduro and the Manchez have no cheat codes at all and must be purchased through the in-game vehicle websites instead.

Which off-road bike is the best in GTA Five?

For story mode the Sanchez is the practical pick, since it is cheap, easy to buy and excellent on rough terrain. In GTA Online the Nagasaki BF400 is generally considered the stronger all-round enduro bike, with better stability and higher top speed than the Sanchez.

Can I upgrade a bike that the cheat spawned?

No. Cheat-spawned vehicles cannot be stored in a garage or modified at Los Santos Customs. To fit performance upgrades, armour or a custom livery, you need to buy a Sanchez from the Southern San Andreas Super Autos website using your character’s in-game phone.

Will using the dirt bike cheat get me banned?

Not in single-player story mode, where cheats are an intended feature and carry no penalty beyond disabling achievements for that session. Using external software to attempt cheating in GTA Online is a completely different matter and can result in a permanent account ban.
